Valentines Service Project

Valentines Service Project

The PTA Community Service program is promoting a project in support of Mix 94.7’s Valentine’s Day Cards for Kids.  These Valentine’s Day Cards will put lots of smiles on kids faces at Dell Children’s Medical Center, Safe Place, Austin’s Children’s Shelter, Center for Child Protection and Ronald McDonald House Charities of ATX & Central TX.

We are asking Patsy Sommer students to bring in either a homemade or a store bought card wishing a child a Happy Valentine’s Day.  The cards can be addressed to “A Special Valentine” or “Someone Special”.  We are asking for all cards to be turned in to your classroom by Friday, February 6th.  Please do not include any candy.  Thanks for your help!!!

Important Note:

Crossing guards are hired through the City of Austin.  We currently do not have a crossing guard for the Palmbrook/ Indina Hills area.  If possible, please walk with your younger children; have your child walk with friends; and remind them to follow pedestrian rules.  This is another reason to be extremely careful when driving through the neighborhood!

Being a crossing guard is a great way to support our school and community.  It is for just a few hours in the morning & afternoon.  If you are interested or know someone who may be interested in being a crossing guard, please call Esperanza Schiele at 512-565-5623.
