Field day will be on March 15th (the Friday before Spring Break). The schedule for each grade is listed below. In order to make this field day run smoothly, we will be asking for parent volunteers to help run each of the stations, in addition to our 5th grade helpers! Please sign up online ( ) if you can commit to helping us at any of the following sessions on March 15th.

8:00 – 9:40 am             3rd and 5th Grade

10:00 – 11:40 am         2nd and 4th Grade

12:40 – 2:20 pm          K and 1st Grade

Please note: If you would like to walk around with your child during their field day session, please do not volunteer to help during that time frame, as you will be assigned to a specific station.

We are super excited to participate in the Apex Fun Run Leadership Program for the second year.  The program will begin with a pep rally for students on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 7:40 in the cafeteria and culminates with a fun run during each grade level’s specials times.  This is a campus fundraiser used to raise money to supplement our school budget and completely separate from PTA’s Stuff the Boot campaign in the fall.  

The program not only benefits our students through funding programs, but by providing our students with leadership lessons  that fit our campus mission of “Empowering World Class Leaders and Life-Long Learners”.  Check out the flyer for information:  APEX Information.  Also attached is the financial breakdown from APEX.  Our campus receives more than 50% of the amount donated with an additional added % with more money raised.  APEX $ Breakdown 

Last year, through your generosity, $53,000 came back to our campus.  This money was used to purchase technology, flexible seating and supplies/materials for our Innovation Station on campus.  A breakdown of our purchases is included here:  APEX 2018 Purchases.  Also, 10% of each classroom’s earnings goes directly back to the teacher to spend on her students and classroom.

This year, all money raised will be spent on technology including an ipad cart, flexible seating, playground improvements, instructional support materials and subscriptions such as NewsELA and Discovery Learning. 

We look forward to the fun of APEX for our students and teachers and encourage you to ask questions, visit a classroom leadership lesson and/or download the app to view videos and information and support our campus!

Please join us for Kinder Round Up at Sommer Elementary! This is a great chance for students to come see the school and be introduced to the kindergarten teachers. During your child’s session, they will participate in stations in order to get a little taste of what kindergarten will be like. Parents will remain in the library to complete registration paperwork and tour the campus. We know this will be an exciting time for these upcoming learners! We look forward to meeting you all.

**Please remember that you can only sign up for one slot at a time. If you have multiple children entering Kinder at the same time, please complete the form for each child**

If your child WILL NOT be attending Kinder Round Up with you, you DO NOT need to sign up for a time slot. You can register your student at anytime between 9 am- 2pm on March 13th.

SPACES ARE LIMITED! So reserve your students spot ASAP.
