Veterans Day

We had an amazing celebration in honor of our veterans on Friday.  Over 25 of our Stallion family veterans walked in to the cafeteria as the notes of their branch was sung by our choir in the “Armed Forces Medley”.  Our student council president read the United States Presidential Proclamation declaring the month of November “Military Family Month”, the vice president shared her thoughts on heroes, and other officers shared their reflections on veterans day.  Several student speakers from 2nd-5th grade read their beautiful essays on heroes and veterans, and Mrs. Stephens, first grade teacher, shared a poem about the sacrifices of not only the veterans, but the military families as well.  The highlight of the assembly were listening to the veterans introduce themselves and share a little of their experiences.  There were very few dry eyes as the entire assembly ended the celebration with the singing of “America the Beautiful”.  Our Stallions were certainly amazing as they honored true “World Class Leaders”.  In the words of Diya Arun, “From the bottom of (our) hearts, (we) thank you for your part.”
