Campus News 02.13.2018

It’s beginning to look a lot like a Sommer marathon! Sommer Elementary is pleased to host our first APEX Fun Run.  This school fun run will not only fund materials for our Innovation Station, but technology in the form of ipads and/or SMART boards.  Additionally, our students will participate in a fun week of leadership activities focusing on the following characteristics:  Unique, No Excuses, Inspire Others, Teachable, Empathize and Do Your Best!  We are excited to bring this great program of fitness, character and leadership to Patsy Sommer. Check out our face book page later today for picture updates. (Face book page link) APEX UNITED: Together We Are More!

It’s the Flu!!  and even if it is not the flu, please do NOT send your child(ren) to school if they are sick!  Forget perfect attendance!  Your children need to rest and get well or they will not focus in class, but will get others sick.  Students must be fever free (under 100) for 24 hours before returning to school.  We are doing our best to keep surfaces sanitized in order to combat the germs from viruses and flu.  Please help us out! If you would like to donate sanitary wipes, spray, or hand sanitizer to the classrooms, I know that the teachers would appreciate them.  Also, if your child is diagnosed with the flu, be sure to notify the office.  Thanks for your support! Spring will be here in just a few weeks!

Help Needed:  8 volunteers per grade level are needed to help count laps at the APEX Fun Run on March 1.  Please sign up on this Google form if you would like to help.  Students will all participate during their Specials time. Parents are invited to the fun!
