The Class of 2026 Senior Walk 🎓✨
The Class of 2026 returned to where it all began for their traditional elementary school walkthrough.
Watching these seniors walk the same hallways they used to walk through as wide-eyed kids was a full-circle moment. Our elementary students lined the hallways and cheered the graduates on. It was incredibly heartwarming to see the joy, nostalgia, and community spirit fill the air.
Once a Stallion, Always a Stallion!!! Congratulations, Class of 2026!

💡 Brilliant minds at work! 💡
Our Gifted and Talented students absolutely knocked it out of the park at this year’s Independent Project Showcase! The cafeteria was buzzing with incredible energy today as these amazing young researchers proudly displayed their hard work and chatted about their findings with fellow students, teachers, and staff.
The sheer variety of topics on display was mind-blowing. Visitors got to explore an incredible range of subjects, including:
📐 The timeless math of Pythagoras
💻 The groundbreaking legacy of coding pioneer Ada Lovelace
🏥 The revolutionary medical data of Florence Nightingale
🌌 The mind-bending mysteries of Quantum Mechanics
We are so incredibly proud of the deep research, creativity, and confident public speaking skills our GT students displayed. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to support our brilliant thinkers! 👏

🌟 "First, think. Second, believe. Third, dream. And finally, dare." — Walt Disney 🌟
What a magical couple of days! Our students put on an incredible Disney-themed performance last Thursday night for parents, and followed it up with a spectacular Friday morning show for the whole school.
A massive round of applause to our amazing performers and crew for bringing the magic of Disney to our stage! 🎬🎤✨

Round Rock ISD students will need to take home their district-issued Chromebook over the summer. All students’ Classlink and Google accounts will remain available over the summer break.
If you are a graduating senior, please return your device and charger to your school’s ITS before graduation.
Students participating in the district-provided summer learning programs will need to bring their Chromebooks with them each day.

The 16th Annual Sommer Flugtag Competition was an absolute blast! 🚀
Here is the recap of today’s high-flying (and sometimes high-crashing) festivities:
✈️ The Challenge
Inspired by the legendary Red Bull Flugtag, our students spent the last week engineering flying apparatuses using nothing but recycled materials. We saw some incredible creativity involving:
🏫 Leading from the Top
A massive shout-out to our amazing principal, Ms. Elarms, who took "leading from the top" literally! Braving the heights, our principal climbed up to the roof to personally launch every single student-made device. The energy on the ground was electric as the entire student body watched, cheered, and held their breath to see which designs would soar and which would... gracefully find the ground.
🏆 The Results
From milk carton biplanes to wrapping paper gliders, we saw some impressive aerodynamics today. Whether they flew across the lawn or took a vertical dive, the spirit of innovation was the real winner.
Check out the images to see how much fun the students had!

Upcycling for a Great Cause! ♻️💰
Our brilliant 3rd-graders just wrapped up their Economics Fair, and we couldn't be prouder. These young entrepreneurs spent weeks transforming recycled materials into high-quality "upcycled" products.
The students learned firsthand about production costs, supply and demand, and marketing. But the best part? Every cent raised from the fair is being donated to the Round Rock Serving Center to help our neighbors in need.
🐎 Giddy Up, Sommer Elementary! 🐎
Our 4th Graders took a trip back to the Wild West today for our annual Western Week!
🌵 Today’s Highlights:
The Morning Rodeo: Students kicked things off with Western relay races!
The Afternoon Round-Up: We headed outside for outdoor stations, testing our skills at various western-themed challenges.
The Cookout: Students sat outside for lunch and enjoyed their grub under the Texas sky!
It’s been an unforgettable week. We are bursting with pride over the Texas-sized participation from our 4th-grade wranglers!

🌟 Inspiring Future Leaders: Career Day 2026! 🌟
What do you want to be when you grow up? Our students got a front-row seat to the answer this morning!
On Friday, May 1st, our campus was buzzing with ambition and curiosity for our annual Career Day. From the cafeteria to the classrooms, our community came together to show our students that the possibilities for their futures are truly endless.
❤️ A Huge Thank You!
To the parents and community partners who took time out of their busy schedules to inspire our students: THANK YOU. You aren't just sharing your jobs; you're helping our kids dream bigger.

We had an incredible time hosting our Pre-K 4 and Kindergarten Roundup this past April 29th! It was wonderful to see so many new faces and feel the energy of our incoming students and their families.
A huge thank you to everyone who braved the nerves (parents and kids alike!) to come meet our teachers and explore the classrooms. We are officially counting down the days until the first day of school!
Welcome to the family, Class of 2038 & 2039! ✨

We are excited to announce that we are hosting our PreK 4 and Kindergarten Round Up on Wednesday, April 29th. If you have an incoming PreK4 or Kindergarten student, this event is for you. Or, if you have friends, neighbors, etc., who will have an incoming student in one of those grade levels, please share this information with them.
During the event, families will meet in the library, and we will introduce several staff members. Then, students will go with the teachers to do some fun activities while parents stay in the library and learn about "All Things Sommer" and take a brief campus tour.
There are three time slots available. Please register using the link below so that we can best plan for the event. You will get an email confirmation a few days prior to the event confirming your session time.
If you have a CURRENT student in PreK 4 AT SOMMER, you are welcome to join the event, but you may not need to. If you feel comfortable with the campus routines and procedures, you are not required to attend this event.
RRISD Enrollment/Registration is open, so we do ask that you have your child registered online with the district before attending. Lia Milost, our campus registrar, will be available that day to answer any questions regarding required/missing documents. Additionally, if you are seeking a transfer to Sommer, you are welcome to attend if you have submitted the transfer paperwork (even if it has not been approved yet).

🌟 STALLION STAR CELEBRATION: The Inflata-Run! 🌟
Our students have officially reached their goal, and the reward was nothing short of legendary! To celebrate earning enough Stallion Stars, our staff took to the field for a Fun Run like no other.
The competition was fierce (and very bouncy). Our inflatable athletes included:
The Unicorn: Pure magic on the track.
The Dinosaurs: A prehistoric powerhouse.
The Zebra: Sporting the fastest stripes in the district.
The Chameleon: We’re not sure if they won because they kept blending into the grass!
The Flamingo: Putting a whole new meaning to "running on one leg."
The Air Dancer: Bringing that chaotic, wavy energy to the finish line.
The Bunny: Giving "Fast and Furry-ous" a whole new meaning
The Shark: Managed to race alongside the flamingo without a single "shark attack." Now that’s what we call being respectful!
If you would like to watch the run, you can go to the uploaded video on Youtube: https://youtu.be/kP3uQuSYQpI
