MultiCultural Committee:
Visit the country of Eritrea [er-i-tree-uh] in Africa this month! A new “Focus On” country series is up in the school’s main hallway. Many thanks to Adiam Ghirmai and her family for sharing some Eritrean artifacts and the educational information on this fascinating country. Yekeniyeley (it means “thank you” in the Tigrinya language)
Healthy Lifestyles:
The Wall of Champions sponsored by Sommer PTA Healthy Lifestyles will up this month! For all submission options, please check the flyer posted on the Sommer PTA website.
Math SuperStars:
Math SuperStars is almost to another reward! Make sure you have completed 100 minutes by Friday, October 13. Or for those joining late, have 40 minutes from September 30-October 13. The reward this time is a class coupon. Good for things like eating lunch with a friend, taking your shoes off in class, or bringing a stuffed animal to school! Thanks for your participation!
Spirit Wear:
All ordered shirts have been delivered. If you need to exchange a shirt you must email sommerspiritwear@gmail.comwith your request. There are very few extras but we will do our best to accommodate where we can. Thank you!

Fall Fundraiser:
Happy October, Stallion Parents! Our school’s annual Stuff the Boots Fall Fundraiser starts next Monday 10/16 and runs for TWO weeks through 10/27. Please check your Thursday folders for a colorful flyer with a donation form on the back. Donations will open this weekend if you would like to get a head start! Double your donation through your company, check out PTA Facebook page this week for a list of known companies that match. We encourage you all to donate online instead of sending in the paper donation form (unless matching) and help us reach our $35,000 goal. Let’s Stuff the Boots, together!
