Campus News 10.30.2017

Hi All,

Fall is here!

I hope that you were able to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend and keeping our fingers crossed that the rain will stay away tomorrow! We had a lot of fun last week dressing up to support living a “Drug Free” life and students participated in class activities as well.  On Friday, our second grade students did an amazing job sharing their knowledge of Round Rock history through skits, puppet shows, videos, Google slides, and dioramas.  Kudos to all of our teachers & stallions!

Passport to Sommer

This year, our PTA Multi-Cultural committee, has expanded our successful “country visits” from last year’s Candy Land into a full “Passport to Sommer” celebration.  Come join us this Friday from 5:30-8:30 and visit all 7 continents and 16 countries.  Visit each country, participate in a variety of arts and crafts activities, and enjoy performances such as our Singing Stars, Stallion Choir, the Irish Dance Center, Elizabeth Kahura (African Safari program), our Sommer Chinese club, the Stony Point High School Mariachi Los Tigres and many, many more!  See flyer for details.  We hope to see you there! Passport to Sommer flyer

Book Character Dress Up Day

Dress as Your Favorite Book Character Day is tomorrow!  Students should dress as a character from a book.  Books or a copy of the book’s cover page should be carried by the students so that they can be easily identified.  Please no scary masks or costumes.  It is always a lot of fun to see all of the Stallions in their book character costumes each year and learn of great new books to read as well! Dress Up as Your Favorite Book Character flyer

Veterans Day Celebration

On November 10, we will honor all veterans in our Friday school-wide assembly.  Family members who have served in the armed forces are invited to join us so that we can celebrate each of them on this special day.  The assembly will begin at 7:35. Please complete the RSVP form and information attached to this email.  Veterans will be invited to introduce themselves by sharing their name, branch, and years of service. We will also invite the students to sit with their veteran.  A reception for all veterans will be held following the assembly. Link to RSVP form: https://goo.gl/GN3dlp

We also want to celebrate all of the heroes in our Stallion family.  If you have a veteran in your family, please complete this form, print, and return it to the office by Tuesday, Nov. 7.  Link to Veterans Day Picture Form: https://goo.gl/sMYoD7

{Did you know? According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, “Veterans Day” does not have an apostrophe because it is not a day that “belongs” to veterans, but is instead, a day for honoring all veterans.}
